B2B eCommerce development with strategic direction

Strategic consulting for your eCommerce development. Before choosing CMS, before hiring development, before spending €50,000 you'll have to spend again.

TL;DR

Elevam directs eCommerce development projects from strategic consulting, not from code. We define what to build, on which CMS, with what SEO/GEO architecture and under what conversion plan — and we either execute with development partners under our direction, or supervise the internal team or agency the client already has. We apply the proprietary CREF© framework. We work with €1M-20M companies.

The problem

You're going to launch your eCommerce. Or rebuild it.

You've asked for three quotes. One agency says Shopify, another says Prestashop, the third says «it depends, we can do something custom». Prices range from €8,000 to €90,000. They all show you nice portfolios and talk about UX, integrations, deadlines.

None has asked you yet what share of your revenue has to come from this channel in 24 months, what CAC you can afford, what happens to your sales team when digital starts selling, or how that store will rank when you finish it. They're selling you a tool. You need a system.

The problem isn't choosing the right CMS. It's that nobody has asked you the right question first: will this eCommerce, built the way they're proposing, be inside or outside your P&L in two years?

That's where we come in.

What we do differently

Strategic direction of development, not development alone.

We apply CREF© — Consultoría de Crecimiento Elevam Framework — to your eCommerce development. We don't compete with development agencies: we work above. CREF© connects every technical decision to three P&L variables.

01

Expected channel revenue share

And a reasonable timeframe to get there. We don't sell an eCommerce: we define what it has to deliver and when.

02

Target CAC per channel

Organic, paid, partners, marketplaces. And its expected 24-month evolution. Without this, the marketing budget is a raffle.

03

Total 3-year cost of ownership

Development + maintenance + marketing + operations. Not just the initial development budget. Whoever only shows you the first number isn't showing you the cost.

We don't pick the newest CMS. We pick the one that defends your P&L.

Work areas

Six areas, one unified project.

01

Strategic pre-diagnosis

Before any line of code. Analysis of the business, the catalogue, the current commercial channel, the competition and expected organic positioning. Output: executive document with the eCommerce business case and the recommendation to continue, rethink or not build.

02

Technology stack selection

Informed and reasoned decision on CMS and architecture. We work agnostically: Shopify, WooCommerce, Prestashop, Magento, Drupal or custom development are chosen by case, not by trend or by what the current developer happens to know.

03

SEO and GEO architecture from day 1

Most eCommerces are built and then SEO is attempted. That's expensive. We design the semantic architecture, categories, URLs, schema and content strategy before development starts. And if you sell B2B or to a decision-maker who already consults ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini, we integrate GEO into the architecture from the start — with the HSA Protocol and the Prompts × Models Matrix.

04

Conversion plan (CRO)

Funnel structure, product pages, categories, checkout, cart recovery and cross-sell. Defined before developing, not patched afterwards.

05

Project direction and technical supervision

We direct the development partner (ours or yours). We validate sprints, review deliverables and guarantee that what's built matches what was designed. If your technical agency is good, we make sure they stay good. If they're not, we detect it early.

06

Post-launch plan

Roadmap for the first 12 live weeks: tracking, first CRO iterations, first SEO/GEO push, collection of learnings. Launch isn't the end of the project, it's when the real work starts.

If you already know your stack, go straight to the specific landing:

Cases

What we did directing real projects.

Real cases with verifiable metrics. Names are in public projects.

Why Elevam

We're not a development agency. It matters.

We don't charge by developer hours. And this changes three things that matter.

  • 01

We have no CMS bias. An agency that only knows Shopify recommends Shopify. One that lives off Magento recommends Magento. We recommend what defends your 3-year P&L, even if someone else executes it.

  • 02

We work with general management or the committee that decides the investment. What we propose has to be approved at board level, not in a technical meeting.

  • 03

We have a published, auditable proprietary methodology. CREF©, HSA Protocol, Elevam Labs, Prompts × Models Matrix. If you want your trusted consultant to audit us, great. It's what we'd do in your place.

  • 04

We integrate SEO and GEO from the architecture. A development agency hands you an eCommerce ready «to optimise». We hand it over ready to rank — in Google and in LLMs — from day 1.

How we work

Four phases, no blind sprint.

  • 2-4 weeks

    CREF© diagnosis

We analyse the business, the catalogue, the current channel, the competition and the digital scenario. Deliverable: executive document with the eCommerce business case and investment levers ranked by impact.

  • Before the first commit

    eCommerce strategic plan

Stack, SEO/GEO architecture, conversion plan, roadmap, consolidated 3-year budget, team plan. It's the document on which the investment is approved.

  • Implementation

    Execution under Elevam direction

We coordinate the development partner — ours or yours. We validate sprints. We guarantee what's built matches what was designed.

  • 12 weeks post-launch

    Launch and iteration (Elevam Labs)

The first 12 weeks post-launch are critical. We apply learnings from Elevam Labs, our internal R&D unit, so we don't experiment with you: we experiment first.

Spokesperson
I've seen too many eCommerces launch before knowing what they were launching for. And I've seen the same clients pay twice: once to build them, once to fix them. Elevam exists so that second payment isn't needed. If what you're going to build doesn't defend itself on the P&L, we tell you before starting.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about eCommerce development

What does an eCommerce development consultancy do?
An eCommerce development consultancy defines the strategy, the technology stack, the SEO/GEO architecture and the conversion plan for an online store before development starts. Unlike a development agency, it doesn't build directly: it directs the project and supervises the technical team — internal or external — to guarantee that what's built matches the business case. Elevam applies the proprietary CREF© framework to this work.
Do you develop the eCommerce or only direct it?
Both are possible. We execute with trusted development partners under our direction, or we direct the internal team or technical agency the client already has. What we never do is bill developer hours as the main business: that would reintroduce bias into the initial recommendation.
What CMS do you recommend for a mid-market B2B eCommerce?
It depends on the catalogue, commercial model, ERP/CRM integrations and 3-year budget. Shopify, WooCommerce, Prestashop, Magento and custom development have cases where they're the best option and cases where they're a bad decision. Anyone giving you a recommendation without seeing your business is selling you a service, not consulting.
Why do you integrate SEO and GEO from the architecture?
Because rebuilding the SEO architecture of an already built eCommerce costs between 3 and 10 times more than designing it well from the start. And because, with the consolidation of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews in the buyer's discovery phase, an eCommerce not thought out to be cited in LLMs is born obsolete.
What is GEO and why does it matter in eCommerce development?
GEO — Generative Engine Optimization — is the set of techniques to make a brand and its products appear cited in responses generated by AI models. In eCommerce development it matters because the architecture, schema, copy and extraction structure condition whether your brand will appear in those responses. Designing it afterwards is expensive; designing it before is cheap.
How much does eCommerce development consulting with Elevam cost?
We work by projects, not hours. The CREF© diagnosis has a fixed price. From there, the strategic plan and project direction are quoted based on scope. If you need a rough range before the first meeting, it's delivered within 24h.
How long does eCommerce development directed by Elevam take?
A well-planned mid-market eCommerce typically takes 4 to 9 months from diagnosis to launch, depending on catalogue complexity, integrations and chosen stack. Anyone promising «your eCommerce in 30 days» is selling a template, not a project.
What kind of company do you work with?
B2B and B2C companies with revenue between €1M and €20M, launching their first serious eCommerce or needing to rebuild the current one. We don't work with micro-stores or with whoever is looking for the lowest budget on the market.
