What is Google's algorithm?
An algorithm is a "developed program" that decides and executes certain actions. For example, google has several algorithms in charge of website positioning and it's one of the most complex out there today.
When I say it decides certain actions, for example, in google's case, an action it decides is the organic position in the serp of a url for the keyword.
That is, when you search for a keyword, the order in which organic results appear in the SERP has been decided by google's algorithm through factors that influence positioning.
There are more than 200 factors that influence a website's positioning and that the algorithm takes into account to determine its position. For example, one factor could be keywords and their density. Or the "alt" attribute on the image.
Well, we call algorithm what's really a neural network. The difference is that the neural network learns from itself, that's why it's said that not even the developers of this neural network know exactly how it works because it's the network itself that keeps changing and learning without the need for a human.
You already know that seo has many paths so not everything I say below can be applied to all websites and everyone will agree.
Now yes, I'll explain some tips to improve your website's positioning that I'm almost sure you didn't know since most I've experienced myself.
SEO TIP 1: Put microdata on images
On photopea.com you can add microdata to images to give Google information about it.
The microdata I use most for local SEO is geolocation.
For example, if I want to position myself in Reus, I'll put a longitude and latitude of Reus. So when I upload the image to the google my business listing or the website, google will believe the photo was taken in that specific location and it will be more credible and natural so it may add points when positioning.
Here I leave you a video where I explain everything you need to know about geolocating images.
SEO TIP 2: Forget about keyword densities
Forget about densities. Google is smart enough to determine what keywords you want to position for.
Put all the variety of keywords possible and never omit any to raise the density of another.
Better to put them all with low density than a few with much density, just having the keyword appear once throughout the content, google will know you want to position it semantically since it will relate your text to the keyword and will analyze pages of other websites that talk about the same thing, it will see what keywords that page of that website uses, and will position you for the same keywords. The difference is that other websites probably put densities and you didn't, that's the difference.
For example, if we only have 5 keywords there's no problem since we can put considerable density for each one since they're few
On the other hand if we have more than 20 keywords for the same page, it's impossible to put 1.5% density for each keyword because there are too many and if we add them up, they'd get a total density of (20 x 1.5) = 30%. A brutality.
If you notice, I count the density of all keywords together and not separately (hence the 30%) since normally these keywords are variants or related and are the same word said in different ways.
That's why I recommend putting the maximum number of variable and related keywords (that is, all 20), and once all have been put, if possible, repeat the most important keywords again.
I recommend you watch this video since I explain it visually and you'll understand it more easily.
SEO TIP 3: SEMANTICS IN CONTENT
It's one of the most valued points by Google when deducing the
meaning of content. For example, if I talk about "Jack", we'll help it understand if it's the name or the lifting tool.
That's why google reads content and knows what you're talking about from the whole context. That's why in the previous point I said that just by putting the keyword once it knows what you're talking about and what it should position you for.
To create good semantics, you have to play above all with headings and their hierarchy.
For example, for a post about the best wordpress themes, you don't need to repeat the keyword "best wordpress themes" all the time, simply put it in the H1, throughout the content sometimes when you find the occasion and that's it. What we will do is put a list of the best themes for wordpress and that's what creates semantics.
When google reads in the H1 best seo themes and then sees the list of seo themes, even if the keyword doesn't have much density it already knows what you're talking about and what it should position you for.
SEO TIP 4: Magnitude of content update
The amount of text we modify in already indexed content also counts in SEO terms.
Expanding and improving content over time will benefit us in terms of organic positions.
For example, every six months review the same article and change what's needed, update it and add more information if necessary. So google will see that it's updated and will benefit you by positioning it better.
A clear example is my post about best seo agency, every week I add a new agency. I started with the top 10 seo agencies in Spain and now I'm at 80.
SEO TIP 5: Linking to external sites ourselves
Many people believe that by putting links to external websites we won't position as well as if we didn't because we lose link juice and… that's not the case.
Linking to external sites in moderation won't take away link juice, on the contrary, it will benefit us.
If google sees that we reinforce our content and offer a good user experience with these links it will probably benefit us in terms of positions. That we lose link juice is a myth! At least in my opinion.
The site to link must be trustworthy, related to the content and with natural anchor text.
For example, in a white hat seo post, it would be logical to link to Google's guidelines.
SEO TIP 6: Reading level
Google takes into account the difficulty level of our texts.
What it does later with this information hasn't been revealed, although we affirm that the better understood and more basic the content, the better it will rank.
You must be very clear about the goal and search intent the keywords are aimed at, get to the point and don't put filler content.
SEO TIP 7: Terms of service and privacy
Through these two pages your website gains trust points with Google since it understands they are Websites with nothing to hide and committed to the user and internet in general. A relevant factor.
I always index this content and never obfuscate or put in nofollow the links pointing to them. Google knows them all!.
